Each year, the Schenevus Central School Emergency Management Team, in cooperation with police, fire department and emergency services, holds several drills as a part of our emergency preparedness efforts. These drills include fire drill evacuations, bus drills, campus evacuation drills, hold-in-place drills, lockout drills, and lockdown drills.
Today, March 6th, we conducted the fourth of four annual lockdown drills. During this particular drill we also set off the fire alarm to train staff students to ignore the alarm while under a lockdown. Teachers discussed this special scenario with their students before the drill.
Ensuring children’s safety, health, and happiness is at the core of what we do; we will continue our work diligently. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions.
