Tumblebooks

www.tumblebooks.com/library/auto_login.asp?U=oncboces&P=books

Tumblebooks is a database that was bought for us by BOCES. It is a database of books from the earliest picture books through young adult titles. You can project Tumblebooks from a computer to a screen or students can use Tumblebooks on their own computers. It reads the book to the student and has the text of the book on the screen. Students can read along with the book. It's a great website for students who are not strong readers. I've been using it with elementary classes and they really enjoy reading silently along with the narrator. There are other applications but it's brand new to me and I have yet to figure it all out!
